It is hard to get a wheat and dairy free brekky, and this fits the bill.
It is yommy and keeps me going (and I am a guts). It is possibly the lauric acid in the coconut yoghurt.
- 1-2 handfuls of baby spinach
- 1 dessertspoon of ground almonds (or other nut/ nut butter)
- 1 dessertspoon coconut yoghurt
- 1/2 large banana
- 2 dates, pitted
- a bit of mint
- a bit of lemon juice
- some water
This sounds delicious (apart from the banana!)
ReplyDeleteI may well try this, substituting something else for the pineapple!
The world is your oyster!
Deletedo you mean coconut yoghurt from coconuts or regular yoghurt with coconuts in it? I am such a guts myself i dont know if this would even fill the gap!
ReplyDeleteCoconut milk yoghurt.
DeleteTry it. Make it thick.
I like the sweet elements in this-sometimes green smoothies are too green for me but this one sounds sweet enough :)
ReplyDeletepineapple works well in place of the dates.
DeleteI had tim tams for breakfast. But am motivated to try out new things for my eldest. He's intolerant to dairy - poor thing has significant eczema at times, despite steroids). Anyway, in the past have let him have small amounts of yoghurt, although am considering stopping this. Perhaps coconut yoghurt is the answer?
ReplyDeleteCoconut is quite anti-inflammatory. Go Co Yo cray cray!
